Both run the same product; the difference is who operates the servers. The subscription starts at the price on the card and is quoted for your number of users and storage; the license is quoted once for your infrastructure. All prices are net and apply to businesses; Home Builder Software is not sold to consumers.

One-time license

For companies whose project data has to stay on infrastructure they control. You pay for the software license once and install it on your own servers. Your administrators hold the database, the file storage and the backups, and nobody else can reach the project file. Support and update terms are agreed with you rather than fixed in a plan.

Software built around your process

When a step of your process has no place in the standard product, it gets built, on the same product the cloud and the license run on. Describe the step, and the quote separates the standard product from what is made for your company.

For companies whose process does not fit any standard product, and should not have to. If a step in your process has no place in the standard product, we build it. That can be one extra module, a different approval path, an interface to the system your accountant already uses, or a version of Home Builder Software shaped around how your company works. It is written by the same people who maintain the product, so it stays part of it instead of sitting beside it.

Each addition is specified with you before anybody writes code.
A custom module reads and writes the same project file as the standard ones.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a user?

A user is a person with their own login in the company account, whatever their role: owner, estimator, site manager, accountant. Customer portal accounts do not count; your customers follow their project there without adding a user. The quote names the number of users it covers; adding one later changes the next invoice, nothing else.

Is the starting price the final price?

No. It is the lowest monthly amount, for a small office with little storage. Your quote names the amount for your number of users and the storage you want, and that quote is the whole price: nothing per project, per module or per customer portal account, and no charge you did not see in writing first.

Is VAT added?

All prices are net. Customers in Germany pay the statutory German VAT on top. Businesses in other EU countries with a valid VAT identification number receive an invoice without German VAT under the reverse-charge rule, and so do customers outside the European Union.

What is included with the self-hosted license?

The one-time payment covers the software license itself. Your organization controls and operates the infrastructure, and the support and update terms are agreed with you rather than fixed in advance.

Is customizing included in the one-time license?

No. Customizing is not included automatically. Requested adaptations are defined with you and listed separately in the quote.

Can we change the operating model later?

Discuss the intended path before purchase so that data transfer, infrastructure responsibility and support can be planned explicitly.
