What is a construction measurement record?

A construction measurement record documents measured quantities by item, unit, date and source so they can support valuation and billing.

Definition

Measurements translate installed work into quantities such as length, area, volume, weight or item count. A reliable record identifies where the quantity came from and keeps its worksheet, note, drawing or photo available.

The commercial value is calculated only after the quantity is paired with the relevant unit rate or schedule item. That separation lets a reviewer check the site quantity without rewriting the price calculation.
