What are home buyer selections?
Home buyer selections are controlled customer decisions between specified construction options, each with price and lead-time effects.
Definition
A selection schedule organizes decisions such as flooring, fixtures, doors or finishes by category and deadline. Each option can carry a description, supplier, allowance difference, image and lead time so the choice is more than a note in an email.
The decision becomes operational when it is approved, connected to procurement and reflected in the commercial record. Late choices remain visible because their deadline and delivery consequence stay with the option.
A selection is not automatically a change order
A choice within the included allowance may not alter the contract. An upgrade, credit or late option may create a commercial or schedule change. Keeping selection and change order linked but separate preserves both decisions.
